Hybrid means that the seeds produced by one season's crop do not "come true" if you save them and replant the next year. Coming true for a plant means that the fruit has the same size, shape, and other characteristics of the fruit from which you saved the seeds.

GMO seeds have had the DNA of some other organism mixed into the plant DNA. Other organisms can include fish, fungi, another type of plant or special GMO seeds with a little bit of the pesticide the farmer intends to spray on the crop to make the plant resistant. The fruit and grain of GMO crops does not have to be labeled in the U.S. GMO crops are banned in Europe because their safety for human consumption is unknown.
